Den Brotheridge Sculpture

This week a unique sculpture began a tour of the country. This depicts a figure made from metal and standing on bullet cases. The figure depicted is Den Brotheridge, the firstt soldier to die in the D-Day landings in Normandy. The sculpture arrived at Villa Park and will visit various places, including Normandy, before reaching its permanent resing place at Portsmouth D-Day Museum later in the year. Shown here is the scultor, Alf Bradley (kneeling) with Den's daughter, Margaret in the background.
